Poker strategy is a mix of pot odds, probabilities, implied odds, false tells, table image, reason to raise, reason to call, loose play, tight play, aggressive play, passive play, various percentage combinations of loose, tight, aggressive and passive in the play.  Opponent-strength based play, undetermined opponent strength based play, short handed play and many more. Of all the elements making the poker strategy the reason to bet, call and raise forms the cornerstone in determining the overall output of the play.

A player may call, bet or raise for several reasons making the structure of the poker strategy.  Callers are commonly considered the immature players, the callers are usually considered to be losers or less profitable players; however, that does not mean that any kind of caller is unprofitable or less skilled.  There are going to be situations in poker when the player will be in a position to call to eventually make the situation costly in pot limit games for others to see the next cards.  However, frequent callers are repeatedly documented to be losers.  When calling is considered a less of a winner’s move, raise and re-raise is also considered to be an insensible move most of the time.

All the call, raise and re-raise are also a commonly adopted method by aggressive players.  There is a right place to employ the call raise and re-raise poker strategy in the playing in a winning way.  The skilled players are well aware of when to apply such moves to find a winning path.

Tendencies of the opponents is a determining factor in any poker strategy; if a player is playing all ins against an aggressive player, then the opponent is going to naturally bet back the all ins with a re-raise if they are in a good stand. So getting to know the opponent tendencies is important apart from estimating what they can possibly hold.  There are some players that will make all in re-raises with nothing in their hand at all.  One must be careful in playing against unpredictable players that are known to take big risks when it comes to betting and winning with simple hands.

Economy is something that should be cultivated in every poker strategy of a player.  Economy in poker refers to avoiding large betting styles when the same result can be obtained with a small betting approach.  Economy relates to being conscious of even a blind steal winning.
